Make a Pompom Bag

Hey y’all! I don’t know about you but every time I see pompoms on people’s outfits or accessories I smile and reminisce beach vacations! These colorful touches add an element of spring and summer. I love the idea of making my own pompom pieces and being able to add or remove it easily, as needed. The best part? It’s easy and quick!

Gather fun pompoms and tassels. These tassels are currently in the dollar section at Target, but are also easy to find online. String the pompoms onto strand of twine. Mix up the colors and number of pompoms on each strand.Add the tassels and strands of twine with pompoms onto the keyring. Use the keyring’s clamp to attach pompoms to your favorite straw or woven bag. Enjoy!

Make a PomPom Bag!

Supplies:

Instructions:

  1. Cut the twine into three or four 12 inch pieces. Thread twine through needle, leaving a short end (approximately two inches) and a long end of the string (approximately 10 inches). Tie a knot at the long end of the string.
  2. Thread the twine through the center of the pompom. Tie a knot one inch above the pompom to prevent the next pompom from sliding down. Repeat this process until there are 3-6 pompoms on the string.
  3. Repeat step 2 with the other pieces of twine. You should have three or four pieces of twine with pompoms threaded on each strand. Set strands aside.
  4. Using the tassel’s rings, link two of the tassels onto the keyring.
  5. Use a strand of cording to attach remaining tassels to key ring. Cut a 10 inch strand of cording. Tie the cording around the tassel’s rings at different increments along the strand. Tie the strand of cording to the key ring.
  6. Tie the strands of pompom twine to the keyring.
  7. Use lobster clamp of keyring and attach pompom-tassels to purse or tote bag. Woohoo!

Live your life joyfully so,

Ashley
