Spring at the Silos Event

Never could I have imagined that several of my favorite creative women from around the country were going to unite in a town near Dallas. Leave it to Joanna Gaines to make it happen! She invited over 100 artisans to set up booths for Spring at the Silos, an event at Magnolia filled with shopping, music, yoga and great food.

The event was so incredible! I was fortunate to meet some of the businesswomen I have admired for years, and also meet a few new faces. Each of these businesses have their own unique collections, from jewelry to artwork to clothing. While every vendor was talented in their own niche, I want to spotlight a few favorites. Each of these blew us away with both their talent and kind hearts. Growing up in a family that ran small businesses, and now doing my own little business, I appreciate the blood, sweat and tears that goes into wearing the many hats needed to run a business. Days are long. Nights are short. For them to keep a smile on their face, under the hot Texas sun, says a lot about their values and love for their work. Let’s give them a big internet hug and show them some love!!

Summer Ellis Jewelry You may recognize this jewelry from Joanna Gaines, as she is one of Summer Ellis’s biggest fans. And she has good reason to be a fan. Not only is Summer Ellis super sweet, but she also has an impressive jewelry line. Her jewelry is high in quality, using sterling silver or 14kt. gold fill, and also high in style. The pieces are delicate and romantic, but durable enough to last for 15 years. Joanna Gaines wears something from Summer Ellis’s jewelry line in every Fixer Upper episode!

Kristin Douglas ArtKristin Douglas is a Salt Lake City based artist that creates beautiful watercolor prints. One thing I love about this artist are her scratch maps of the United States. As you adventure to new areas of the United States, you scratch that location off the map, revealing a beautiful watercolor print. So fun!

Petunia by BunchesWe couldn’t get enough of Petunia!! This adorable 1957 Volkswagen truck turned flower pop-up shop is based out of Rockwall, Texas but travels around selling flower stems, bouquets and flower crowns. Follow traveling Petunia on Instagram here to find the location of her next pop-up shop!

Lindsay Letters
I have been a fan of Lindsay Letters for years! Her beautiful calligraphy can be found on prints, canvases, drinkware and more. My Lindsay Letters collection began with her Christmas prints, featuring festive typography and phrases. Now I have her prints on display for other seasons around my home, and use her wedding prints when hosting bridal showers. If you are on Instagram, check out her swoon-worthy feed here. She wasn’t in the shop when I stopped by but I am hoping she will be back for Spring at the Silos next year!

Roolee BoutiqueTotal fan girl moment here. I spotted Ginger, one of the women behind Roolee Boutique and GigiPip, working away and she stopped to say hi and snap a picture. Ginger is known for her adorable family, style and smile. I love her shop, Roolee Boutique, for its feminine, casual clothing at affordable prices.

Magnolia MarketOf course, I can’t travel down to Magnolia and not mention one of my favorite curators, Joanna Gaines. Each time I go inside her Magnolia Market, I experience it differently. She is constantly redesigning and redecorating the shop, making each visit unique and inspiring. Stepping outside, we wandered around admiring the garden with fresh blooms and herbs.

This trip we were also able to see a few familiar faces from the Fixer Upper show: Joanna’s mom, Chip’s dad and Jimmy Don, the craftsman who creates the metal signs.

If you haven’t made it to Magnolia yet, let’s go! Visiting is always a wonderful experience. (Read more about visiting Magnolia in a previous post here.)

Now that we have all the farmhouse feels, let’s go and embrace the first day of spring!

Live your life joyfully so,

Ashley
