DIY Easy Christmas Holiday Centerpiece | Christmas Decorations

DIY Easy Christmas Holiday Centerpiece | Christmas DecorationsHi friends! How was your weekend? This weekend could not have been better! Between visiting family, food, football and shopping, it was a complete success! Now that the holiday season is in full swing I have been sprucing up the house with Christmas decorations. One of my favorite pieces is this DIY Easy Christmas Holiday Centerpiece.

Start by using a wooden bowl. If you are a fan of Fixer Upper, you will see this long oval bowl, or a similar version, on the show very frequently. Joanna Gaines loves to use these bowls throughout the seasons as centerpieces, fruit bowls or simple shelf storage. They are a must-have decor item and so versatile.

With the bowl, the rest of the centerpiece easily falls into place with a few additional items. Some of these items can probably be found around the house, others are accessible in store. (FYI Target and Pottery Barn have most of these items and have already filled me in on huge Cyber Monday sales)

So let’s get started with this easy DIY project!

Gather ornaments.

And some pretty white pinecones. (Or cheat like me and spray paint a bag of $5 pinecones.)

Find some festive sprays with red berries.

Take all your troubles away by filling the bowl with a few of my favorite things. Watching Sound of Music while doing this is optional. But encouraged.

Add a few little branches from a spray to fill in any gaps. Fluff it all out to make it look extra pretty. And that’s it! Easy as pie…apple crumble pie!

Supplies:

Directions:

  • Cut stems of sprays to leave 1-2 inches of a stem
  • Lay sprays flat in oval bowl, one on each end of the bowl, the the stems in the center
  • If needed, lay 1-2 additional sprays in the middle of the bowl to cover the center
  • Alternate filling the bowl with pinecones and ornaments
  • Fluff out the branches of the spray to allow pieces of pine to show through between the ornaments and pinecones. Or pull off little branches of the spray and place between the ornaments and pinecones.
  • Place on top of table runner, if desired

Now all those good holiday feels are back and warming my biscuits!

Happy Holidays!

Live your life joyfully so,

Ashley
