I love this time of year and all the festive celebrations for fall and Halloween! Now that we have our daughter, I want to make these seasonal activities extra special for her! Since she loves books, we made a Halloween book nook for her in the corner of her bedroom. It’s filled with colorful books, plush animals, lights and cozy places to crawl and read!
About the Halloween Book Nook
Seating area: I used her pack and play mattress and surrounded it with pillows! It’s easy to change out the sheet if it gets dirty. Or cover it with a Halloween blanket!
Shelves: We used these floating bookshelves and added garland on the side. On each shelf is a small strand of battery-operated string lights (taped down and out of her reach) that we turn on when reading at night for a fun effect!
Pumpkin chandelier: I took a pack of these paper lanterns, tied them together and hung them from the ceiling to create a pumpkin paper chandelier! It looks amazing at night!!
Stuffed animal basket: This is actually a fabric candy bowl that works perfectly to hold more books and/or stuffed animals. I opt for these soft baskets over hard wicker materials because they won’t hurt them if they fall or roll onto it.
Banner: I cut the trick-or-treat banner into two halves and hung it. It stays on best when the ends are tied to small command strips.
Books: We have a few fall and Halloween children’s books mixed into her usual favorites!
