While I had to work most of the weekend, the weather in Dallas could not have been more perfect! The cooler temperatures had me putting away my tank tops and pulling out my favorite fall threads – flannel, plaids and gem hues!

In celebration of a close friend’s 30th birthday, my group of girlfriends and I travelled up to New York City. We spent a portion doing a food tour through Greenwich Village, eating at approximately ten stops along the way. This area is filled with charm, history and delicious mom-and-pop Italian specialty food shops and restaurants. The tour was led by the Foods of NY Tours group (two thumbs up to our guide).

Every time I have seen agate coasters in the store they catch my eye. They are an artsy piece that add beauty to coffee tables and counter tops. I love the eye-popping, vivid colors and unique patterns….until I flip them over and see the price tag. These are currently being sold by many designers and stores (see here, here, here) with a steep mark-up. But the secret is, with a few steps, they are easy to create at home!

One of my favorite parts about the fall season is apple pie. Not just any apple pie but the type that is covered in the gooey crumble topping and rich caramel sauce. This recipe is a simple and quicker variation of a crowd favorite.

With the colder nights around the corner, there’s no better time to stock up on a good book. Last year my nightly routine included cozying up with a book next to the fireplace, in order to wind down from the hustle and bustle of the day. I go through phases of books I like to read, some months it’s novels, others times it’s Christian, then business and self-improvement books. Here are a few favorites from different genres.
