After a wonderful week in Sydney (Part One), we packed a weekend bag for a trip to the Great Barrier Reef. Visiting the Great Barrier Reef was a bucket list item for as long as I can remember. The reef spans 1400 miles. One of the better places to explore the reef is in Cairns, in the northern portion of Australia. A short plane ride later we were in the mountainous, tropical city.
Ascorbic acid, better known as Vitamin C, can easily be found in our daily diet. Fruits, vegetables, fortified foods and nutritional supplements are all quick ways to get your daily dose of Vitamin C. Some of the best benefits of Vitamin C, however, are acquired by applying it topically to your skin.
While fall is my favorite season, it’s not officially the fall months yet. Take advantage of the fresh produce is still available and combine them for a delicious and nutritious fruit salad. Get creative with your salads – try different fruits, nuts, seeds, cheeses and dressings that you would not normally try. Delicious caprese salads have become one of my favorite summer staples. I love it as an appetizer or a meal with prosciutto. It’s easy to prepare and tastes amazing. Since there are only a few ingredients used, it is important to only use high-quality and fresh ingredients.
For many years I stored my statement necklaces on one hook or in a drawer. This led to me sorting through the drawer when I was in a rush to get ready. In an effort to store necklaces more appropriately and efficiently, I created a necklace display by using a few things I had on hand. A piece of crown molding from the hardware store and lovely dresser drawer knobs are the essentials. This project can be customized to fit your room and style by changing the color of the crown molding and the style of knobs.
