DIY Wall-Mounted Necklace Display

DIY Jewelry Holder using dresser drawer knobs and crown moulding scraps || from Joyfully So

For many years I stored my statement necklaces on one hook or in a drawer. This led to me sorting through the drawer when I was in a rush to get ready. In an effort to store necklaces more appropriately and efficiently, I created a necklace display by using a few things I had on hand. A piece of crown molding from the hardware store and lovely dresser drawer knobs are the essentials. This project can be customized to fit your room and style by changing the color of the crown molding and the style of knobs.

Wall-mounted Necklace Display

Project time:  2 hours plus drying time

Supplies:

  • 20” cut of crown molding (be sure to use molding that has an area with a flat surface on the front)
  • Sandpaper
  • Semi-gloss paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Drill with drill bits
  • Ruler
  • Level
  • Dresser drawer knobs (other favorites here 1, 2, 3)
  • Hammer
  • Saw tooth hangers
  • Drywall anchors

Instructions:

  1. Sand any sharp edges on crown molding and remove dust.
  2. Paint on coat of paint. Allow to dry.
  3. Using level and ruler, measure out placement for drawer knobs on the crown molding. Include 4” space between knobs.
  4. Match drill bit size to the size of the screw on the drawer knob. Drill holes into crown molding at the designated areas.
  5. Attach saw tooth hangers to the back of the crown molding.
  6. Insert drawer knobs into crown molding.
  7. Using drywall hangers, place necklace display on the wall.

I display this in the area that gets sunlight so it’s sure to add a little extra shimmer and sparkle to the room.
